Privacy Policy
This policy describes the information FLOOR needs to operate a live-conversation platform, and the limits we place on it.
Account information
When you create or use an account, FLOOR stores your email address, display name, and profile photos. We use these details to identify your account and display the identity you choose in FLOOR.
Live audio and clips
Live audio may travel directly between participants through a peer-to-peer mesh or through a configured media provider. Hosts can choose to record audio rooms; those recordings are uploaded to and stored by FLOOR for replay. Machine-generated captions in audio rooms may also be stored as transcripts and may contain errors.
There is no FLOOR-hosted video-room recording or replay. In supported browsers, video-room device clips use a rolling local buffer of up to 30 seconds and are saved to a participant’s device when they choose to make a clip, not uploaded by that feature. Audio-room clips are user-initiated and may use a host’s stored recording. Participants may also capture audio or video using external tools; FLOOR cannot prevent that capture.
Listener incognito
Listener incognito hides your FLOOR account identity from other participants’ listener rosters; it is not anonymity. FLOOR’s server still knows your account, and media connections, IP/connection metadata, counts, and timing can reveal participation. Earlier visible activity is not erased. Hosts and speakers remain visible. Before asking to speak or accepting a stage invitation, you must explicitly reveal your profile by turning off listener incognito and any account-level hidden presence.
Payments
Memberships, tips, and paid pins use Stripe for payment processing. Card information is handled by Stripe and is never stored on FLOOR servers. FLOOR keeps the transaction information needed to reflect a purchase and manage related account activity.
New paid FLOOR Plus subscriptions use Stripe-hosted web checkout, where you choose a payment method and explicitly agree to recurring billing. FLOOR grants paid Plus access after payment is confirmed, not merely when checkout opens.
Apple purchase verification is unavailable in FLOOR, and new Apple In-App Purchases are not offered here. Existing Apple or other legacy billing records may need support review. An unverified Apple record does not grant Plus access or confirm whether an external Apple subscription exists, is renewing, or has been cancelled.
Analytics
FLOOR keeps aggregate daily statistics to understand activity and improve the product. Where a distinct person is needed for a count, FLOOR uses salted hashes rather than exposing an identity in aggregate analytics.
Push notifications
Push notifications are opt-in. If you enable them, FLOOR stores the browser or device push subscription needed to deliver the notifications you selected. You can opt out in your device or browser settings and within FLOOR where available.
Cookies and session tokens
FLOOR uses session tokens and related browser storage to keep you signed in and maintain your session. These are functional technologies; this public site does not rely on advertising cookies.
Your choices and deletion
You can request deletion in the app through Settings → Delete account, or use the web request path below. You can also contact us about your data at sales@rogerhendon.com. We respond to deletion requests using the account information needed to locate the account.
